Job description
The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) seeks a Data Science Intern to directly assist the Data Management and Analytics department with a range of projects related to machine learning, data analysis and special projects. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical to provide an intern the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job training within a professional setting. Ideal candidates should be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a field which makes extensive use of data analytics and have an interest in data science. Candidate must be available to complete the eight-week hybrid (two in-office days) internship program during Summer 2024 and work 40 hours per week. Compensation for this internship will be a wage of $20.00 per hour.General Duties and Responsibilities* Assists with data analysis in relation to municipal securities market data* Assists with initiatives led by the Data Management and Analytics department* Assists with administrative dutiesEducation/QualificationsRising undergraduate junior or senior currently enrolled at an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a field which makes extensive use of data science. This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, basic data science concepts, data analysis, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with coding languages commonly used for data analytics (such as SQL, Python or R) and an interest in the Financial Markets is preferred. Must have the ability to work independently to prioritize and complete project work.
