Description

The DarkStar Group is seeking a Software Engineer with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in Reston, VA. Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, our benefits, and our $25,000 referral program.

THE PROGRAM

The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. We've grown on this effort by providing the customer with Engineers who have done exceptional work, and we've retained our staff by paying very strong salaries, and working hard to ensure each Engineer is doing work that aligns with their career interest.

THE PROJECT

The Sponsor applies technical resources to accelerate the timely, reliable, and secure delivery of open source data, information, and insights. The Sponsor requires application development support to maintain and enhance an existing social media data exploitation platform. The Contractor will work within an existing team environment. Work will include developing enhancements to an existing service-based Java web application.

THE ROLE

The Contractor shall work closely with the Sponsor s product owner and program manager to deliver user stories necessary to realize product vision.

The Contractor shall coordinate with multiple entities, including mission partners, to ensure tools meet defined requirements.

The Contractor shall apply DevOps principles and philosophies to continuously delivery high value enhancements to software in a service-based architecture.

The Contractor shall support data engineering efforts to analyze large data sets to derive data relationships.

The Contractor shall ensure all application security vulnerabilities are addressed as appropriate by severity to maintain security accreditation.

The Contractor shall maintain all source code in Sponsor-wide, remote Git repository.

Required Skills

Demonstrated experience building and maintaining secure Java 8+ web applications using the Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.

Demonstrated experience supporting projects using Python.

Demonstrated experience building and maintaining modern client-side interfaces using industry-standard UI frameworks, JavaScript, Typescript, and React.

Demonstrated experience designing, developing, querying, and maintaining ElasticSearch and related technologies.

Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining SQL-based databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL.

Demonstrated experience developing PL/SQL database scripts, including procedures, functions, exception handlers, and triggers.

Demonstrated experience writing and tuning complex queries against structured and unstructured data sets.

Demonstrated experience developing, documenting, and maintaining secure and scalable REST APIs.

Demonstrated experience integrating services using messaging technologies, including service buses, publish and subscribe, and MQ.

Demonstrated experience managing and developing software applications in an AWS environment.

Demonstrated experience working with geo-locational data at both the backend and the application tier.

Demonstrated experience developing software in a DevOps environment.

Demonstrated experience maintaining Jenkins Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines with automated testing and deployment.

Demonstrated experience using Git as a source code repository.

Desired Skills (Optional)

Demonstrated experience working with big data processing and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, ElasticSearch, MapReduce, and HBase.

Demonstrated experience with Apache NiFi.

Demonstrated experience with the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes.

Demonstrated experience managing and mitigating IT security vulnerabilities using Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs), and applying FISMA security controls.
