Job description
-Oversee, direct and ensure HVAC department operations are performed in an efficient and correct fashion by paying close attention to all HVAC related work performed by the company and taking steps to make any changes or corrections needed.
-Review of daily work schedule, discuss any concerns with dispatch and department manager
-Ensure technicians are assigned work appropriate to their skills
-Ensure equipment is ordered, available and delivered as needed
-Ensure permits are obtained and inspections completed
-Review of completed service job work orders
-Review of parts needed or equipment replacement jobs
-Parts and replacement equipment ordering and assist with compiling of job quotes
-Hands on servicing and repair of refrigerant based systems
-Assist project managers with site inspections, scheduling and quotes
-Make periodic truck stock updates
-Confirm lifts or special equipment to site
Job Requirements
-HVAC Journeyman trade license
-Management experience in related work
-Technical expertise and working knowledge in commercial HVAC equipment with some residential including split systems, ductless systems, gas fired heating equipment, exhaust fans, ductwork installation
-Ability to troubleshoot HVAC equipment
-Knowledge of company, local, state and federal safety and OSHA requirements
-Ability to perform jobsite visits accessing equipment in remote or elevated locations by ladder or other means
-Ability to assess installations ensuring code requirements and any job specifications are met
-Ability to communicate with company personnel, technicians and customers electronically and verbally as specified in company handbook
-Ability to counsel and train service technicians in proper techniques and strategies
-Availability to direct and assist emergency repairs
-Valid drivers license and insurability under company auto policy
-Ability to physically assist with HVAC system equipment installation
