Northern Virginia Magazine is the premiere lifestyle glossy magazine in Northern Virginia. Vibrant and relevant editorial content with the highest standards of journalistic integrity keep this regional gem at the top of the short list of players in NoVA. We are seeking an energetic, organized, and positive individual to complement our editorial and art department. A successful candidate is able to produce high-quality and engaging visuals for advertisements and editorial stories alike for a variety of media.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and design advertisements for a variety of clients, including print and digital versions.
• Work directly with clients to acquire materials, schedule photo shoots, and gain approvals on advertisements.
• Work with editors and the art director to produce magazine features and front of book layouts.
• Create user-friendly templates for plaques, profiles, and awards.
• Update in-house collateral including media kits, rate cards, house ads and marketing etc...
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Editorial experience preferred.
• Proficient in the Adobe suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
• Experience with HTML / CSS.
• Experience working in a deadline-driven environment.
• Clear, professional telephone manner and fast, accurate data entry skills.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction.
• Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
• This is a 100% in-office opportunity.
