ABOUT DESIGN AND PRODUCTION INCORPORATED (D&P)


Design and Production Inc. is a renowned builder of museum experiences, offering a comprehensive range of specialty services for museums and high-profile institutions. With 75 years of experience in the local community, D&P is now part of the global museum business of Chargeurs, a public company based in Paris, France. The Company s expertise lies in prefabrication consulting, project management, exhibit engineering/detailing, prototyping, installation, media, and lighting systems. Projects are custom, large scale, complex, multi-year experiences.


We are a collaborative work environment. Positions are in office, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS POSITION


  • Skills: With 5-8 years of experience in detailing and drafting, you should have a strong foundation in overall drafting skills, producing precise and accurate technical drawings. Experience with AutoCad or AutoDesk inventor is preferred, particularly in creating 3D shop drawings.
  • Design and Engineering Documents: You should be adept at reviewing and interpreting drawings from architects and designers, translating them accurately into technical drawings for fabrication.
  • Bills of Material (BOM) and Material Properties: Understanding BOM s and material properties is essential for detailing and fabrication processes.
  • Problem- Solving Skills: Given the unique nature of projects in museums and other iconic institutions, you should be able to think creatively, solve design challenges, and think critically.
  • Experience with Fabrication Techniques: Previous experience with fabrication techniques, tools and material properties is a definite advantage.
  • Collaboration Savvy: Collaborating with various internal departments like Lighting, Technology Services, Graphics and in-house woodworking and metal fabrication shop requires excellent communication skills to ensure cohesion across all project elements.
  • Museums and Historical Preservation: A genuine interest and passion for museum projects and history will align well with the nature of D&P s projects.
  • Architectural industry experience is a plus.
