**Job Description: Maintenance Inventory Specialist**

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing all functions of the Maintenance and Production Part Stores. A wide degree of creativity and flexibility is expected. This position reports directly with the Plant Maintenance Manager but, will align with Finance, Operations, Safety managers for all consumables/equipment parts to be inventoried.

**Essential Job Duties:**

* Reviews material request evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.

* Enters requisitions for approval of all parts/equipment/tools.

* Prepares estimates of materials and inventory items.

* Keep-stock materials for both inventory and non-inventory items.

* Runs weekly reports such as asset/expense items count, runs cycle count activities and assure accuracy and accountability of inventory.

* Strives to drive cost from the system, while still maintaining a high level of service.

* Will be responsible for sending parts out for repair and re-allocating when returned repaired.

* Provides all necessary (Inventory/CMMS) information and training to employees to allow them to be successful at their jobs.

* Maintains an accurate and organized record keeping system (CMMS Inventory) and works directly with all departments to provide records and services as needed.

* Communicates with the Maintenance Manager on all items as they relate to plant efficiencies and financial goals.

* Will assist to integrate and develop CMMS Inventory, cycle counts, min-max on hand, reorder points, add new parts, and ensure all information is complete with each part as in the manufacture, serial numbers, part numbers, vendor source, contact data, etc.

* Completes assigned tasks in a reliable and timely fashion.

* Will maintain the storerooms in a clean and organized fashion.

* Will support management in achieving all business goals.

* Must be able to display strong decision-making skills and function with minimal supervision.

* May perform other duties as required.

**Qualifications**

**Knowledge and Skill Requirements:**

* Must be knowledgeable in the principles of organization and management of stockroom, spare parts stores.

* Must be knowledgeable in methods, procedures, materials and equipment used in maintenance, including estimations, record keeping and inventory systems

* Must be knowledgeable in the requirements for maintaining equipment and buildings in good repair and in compliance with all applicable safety standards

* Must have equipment knowledge

* Must be able to perform basic math calculations, including percentages and ratios.

* Must have strong computer skills and application knowledge, such as Excel, Word, Power Point and Inventory CMMS systems

* Must have good written and verbal communications skills.

* Must have business acumen in dealing with both internal and external customers and vendors.

**Basic Qualifications:**

* High school diploma or GED

* Must be flexible with working hours (nights, weekends, and overtime) as needed

* Working experience in Microsoft Office tools and ERP systems

* Proven experience as inventory specialist or similar position

* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

* Excellent organizational and planning skills

* Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not applicable for this position.

* This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires a U.S. person status. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee or Refugee.

* Minimum 5 years of inventory management / stockroom planning experience.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Two years of experience in shipping and receiving

* Experience using SAP

* Previous experience driving a tow motor and using an overhead crane.

* Two-year degree
