Introduction

The Loudoun County Department of Planning and Zoning is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Planner II within the Proffer Management Division.

Loudoun has been one of the fastest growing communities of its size for more than two decades and has developed a unique combination of compact, suburban communities in the east and distinctly rural communities in the west. This has created a dynamic planning environment with historic towns; established suburban neighborhoods; new town centers featuring a mix of retail, entertainment, employment, and housing; rich natural amenities; and a vibrant rural economy with a growing number of farms, craft breweries, and wineries. The arrival of Washington Metrorail service to eastern Loudoun in 2021 has created ongoing planning and economic development opportunities and challenges, necessitating energetic and innovative planning staff to help shape developing transit-oriented urban centers
