Copy Link Senior Photography Manager Location Columbus Senior Photography Manager Description Orange Barrel Media is looking for an organized and experienced project manager with proven photography and graphic design skills. As an integral part of the Marketing team, the Senior Photography Manager reports to our Art Director and is responsible for managing a network of photographers to capture and deliver a high volume of exceptional images for our Advertising Sales and Business Development teams. This role also oversees an in-house photography team that assists the Senior Photography Manager with scheduling photographers, organizing and optimizing selected images, and updating marketing materials, as needed. The quality of OBMs photography is a brand differentiator and is critical to the companys ability to secure revenue. Photography is the focus of all OBM Marketing and Sales materials and is, therefore, a high-profile part of our work deliverables. A Senior Photography Manager will succeed in this position if he/she thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and is comfortable managing internal and external partners. WHAT YOULL DO - Work closely with the Sales team and Traffic Coordinator to deliver weekly proof-of-purchase images (POP) of client advertising campaigns on OBM signs across all markets - Work closely with the Business Development team to capture imagery for presentations and proposals to cities, landlords, and community partners - Manage internal photography team direct-reports - Manage external freelance photographer network and provide feedback regularly - Develop and implement internal processes and find efficiencies with existing processes - Handle high level retouching needs - Negotiate photographer fees and manage invoicing - Develop sign-specific directional documents and train direct reports on updating and creating these documents - Clearly communicate directions, explain expectations, and request reshoots if they are not met - Procure new and backup photographers when needed - Review, organize, select, and retouch to create high quality images using Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. - Capture local photography for internal use (i.e., headshots, social media, brand materials) ABOUT YOU - Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Lightroom - Familiar with camera equipment and photography skills/techniques (ability to shoot preferred) - Learns fast, able to successfully interpret and apply distinct visual/design aesthetics - A keen eye, can differentiate between acceptable and extraordinary photography, and recognizes the importance of nuance - Excellent verbal and written skills with an ability to speak the same language as photographers to effectively direct and coach them - Good judgment and willingness to address sub-par deliverables in a firm but positive way to improve quality - Enjoys project management, is well-organized, and can prioritize to meet deadlines - Faces challenges head-on with strong problem-solving skills, yet comfortable asking for help/assistance when needed - Can move fast and pivot quickly while handling multiple things at once with exceptional attention-to-detail - Prefers and are energized by multi-tasking versus a singular linear approach to day-to-day work - Comfortable engaging in collaborative discussions and debates - 4-year degree in Graphic Design, Photography, or related field preferred - Minimum of 6 and maximum of 8 years of experience in a comparable role.
