**Duties**

** Summary**

This position is located in the Office of the Treasurer, Division of Digital Experience (TDE). The primary purpose of the position is to serve as the supervisory 3D Imaging Photographer as well as Coordinator of the 3D Image Modeling Program within the Imaging department (TDE-I).

**Responsibilities**

The incumbent:

Develops and coordinatesthe new 3D imaging operations of TDE-I. The incumbent, in consultation with the Chief of TDE-I, will plan and execute a multipurpose 3D modeling studio designed for NGA collection imaging of objects. Oversight of all aspects of the 3D Imaging program.

Works in a studio setting and in various locations indoors. The incumbent needs to use a variety of digital cameras, lenses and lighting equipment and is expected to apply wide professional knowledge and experience to achieve the highest quality images. Acts as trainer, mentor and partner for selected photography staff within TDE-I to deepen their knowledge and experience with 3D Imaging practice.

Schedules and coordinates the testing of 3D Imaging software and photographic equipment. Maintains necessary levels of technical knowledge, produces highly accurate digital imaging work within deadlines, and maintains collegial relations with supervisors, co-workers, and staff.

Performs the full range of supervisory responsibility, including but not limited to: provides technical and administrative supervision to staff; maintains an organizational environment that positively influences employee opportunity to deliver high quality products and services; establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members, that which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system; observes performance and demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques; provides informal feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance, and resolves informal complaints and grievances.

Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.

**Specialized Experience Statement:**

**GS-12**

Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, being responsible for supervisory 3D Imaging Photography as well as Coordinator of the 3D Image Modeling Program within the Imaging department, planning and execution of a multipurpose 3D studio designed for NGA collection imaging of objects.

**GS-13**

Candidates must possess at least three years of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, being responsible for supervisory 3D Imaging Photography as well as Coordinator of the 3D Image Modeling Program within the Imaging department, planning and execution of a multipurpose 3D studio designed for NGA collection imaging of objects.

+ Mastery knowledge and demonstrated experience shooting works of art as 3D models or other training in all aspects of 3D imaging and color managed workflows including profiling cameras, monitors and printers.

+ Mastery knowledge of color correction techniques, layer management strategies, alpha channel creation, sharpening options and the correct use of image selection tools. Mastery knowledge of the science and art of color and black & white photography, as well as safe handling practices of priceless works of art, including an understanding of the characteristics of digital imaging, high-end digital cameras and network storage devices.

+ Thorough knowledge of the objects to be photographed, such as an understanding of the fragile nature of a print, drawing, painting or object so the photographer knows how to set up the camera, how much light is allowable so as to accomplish the objective without danger to the subjects.

+ Knowledge of being a supervisor and a trainer in straight 3D photography as well. as 3D modeling objects in full 360 degree circles. Familiar with the execution of photography for publication including sculpture, paintings and works on paper. Trains and reviews work for four photographers (to be named later) who will either assist or work under this Supervisory Photographers instructions to produce straight and 3D modeling photography. **Time-in-Grade**: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration under merit promotion procedures.
