Job description

Inova Health System is hiring for an experienced registered nurse for a supervisor position with *Inova L. J. Murphy s Children's Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. *This is a *full-time, night shift* position.

Our 108-bed, Level IV NICU is the largest in the region, and cares for high-risk infants requiring specialized care and observation. The NICU is also the first in the nation to receive The Joint Commission s Gold Seal of Approval for Prematurity. This certification represents the highest level of care for premature birth patients.

The Inova *Unit Supervisor* serves as a front-line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit.
* Embraces, uses, and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools.
* Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes.
* Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility.
* Provides genuine acts of care, appreciation, recognition, coaching, mentoring and encouragement to all members of the healthcare team, to further enculturate Inova's care delivery model and results for all of Inova's strategic priorities.

*Requirements:*
* *Experience: *At least 1 year of NICU RN experience. 2+ years of Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred. Leadership experience (charge or supervisory) is highly desired.
* *Education*: BSN, MSN or ADN required. If RN has an ADN, must complete BSN within 12 months of state date.
* *Licensure and Certification: *BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required, RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN.
* Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.
* Proficient computer skills required.
