Job description

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor to join the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit team within Inova's L. J. Murphy Children's Hospital. At Inova, the Pediatric Cardiac ICU serves the needs of critically ill infants, children, and adolescents who require specialized heart care. This specialized unit is staffed by highly skilled nurses and a team of intensivists from multiple subspecialties, including anesthesiology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric heart surgery, neonatology (newborn care), cardiac critical care, and pulmonology (lung care) and. The unit is expanding to include transplant and device management.

*Job Responsibilities:*

*Additional Requirements:*
* *Work schedule: *Full Time (3 12-hour shifts), Night shift (7pm-7am)
* *Education: *Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing, or Masters of Nursing (MSN). _If Associates in Nursing (ADN): must complete/obtain BSN within 12 months of start date._
* *Experience:* At least one year of Registered Nurse Clinical experience specific to the focus of nursing unit (PICU/PCICU). Two years PICU/PCICU or ICU experience with pediatric cardiac experienced strongly preferred.
* *License and Certification: *BLS from the American Heart Association & VA RN license
* Completion of revised Charge Nurse Workshop within the first 90 days
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention. Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations
* Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and healthcare software required
* Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization. Can serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit
