The Role:

As a Software Integration Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful integration, configuration, and deployment of our software solutions for our clients. You will collaborate closely with our sales, development, and support teams. You will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining integrations between various systems, including healthcare systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability. Your expertise will be critical in enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of healthcare information exchange.This role requires a combination of technical expertise, software development experience, problem-solving skills, and exceptional communication abilities to deliver high-quality solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.

Client Engagement:

  • Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements, objectives, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with the sales team during the pre-sales process to provide technical expertise and support product demonstrations.
  • Establish strong relationships with clients and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the implementation process.

System Integration:

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain integrations between electronic health record (EHR/Epic/Meditech/Cerner) systems, laboratory information systems (LIS), radiology information systems (RIS), picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), pharmacy systems, and other healthcare-related software applications.
  • Creating web interfaces and JavaScript to embed into customer websites.

Data Mapping and Transformation:

  • Perform data mapping, translation, and transformation activities to ensure compatibility and consistency across different systems and data formats.

Interface Development:

  • Develop interfaces (HL7 v2.x and/or HL7 FHIR) and other standard healthcare messaging protocols for seamless communication between disparate systems.

API Development:

  • Design and implement APIs for enabling data exchange and interoperability between healthcare applications and external systems.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of integrations to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with healthcare industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for integration-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly.

Documentation:

  • Create comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, technical diagrams, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures for integrations and related systems.

Ideal candidates for this role will live in the St. Louis, MO or Dallas/Ft. Worth TX areas. While our day-to-day work is done remotely, our teams gather in person for intentional work.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience in software integrations, or deployment roles.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity deploying with-in public cloud providers such as Azure.
  • Understanding of software development languages such as PHP / Laravel (Preferred) / ReactJS (Preferred) / JavaScript / .NET / Java frameworks.
  • Familiarity with creation and consumption of Rest APIs
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability frameworks and initiatives (e.g., Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources - FHIR, CommonWell Health Alliance, Carequality, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CSS and styling tools/frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in healthcare data standards and protocols, including HL7 (v2.x and/or FHIR), X12, EDI, and others.
  • Understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB).
  • Experience working on an agile team.
  • Experience working with ETL/ELT data processing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with Ticketing / Project management solutions such as Jira and Monday
  • Adhere with all Brado and client required training and guidelines for market research and healthcare industry regulations and laws. Specifically (but not limited to) Pharmacovigilance (PV) and Healthcare Providers (HCPs) processes and reporting, Ethics, Confidentiality, Data Privacy / Security and Harassment.
