Fire Alarm Technician

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, schedule, and close out
  • Have thorough knowledge of all major project issues and priorities; prepare and submit monthly job status reports
  • Have thorough knowledge of the companys contracts and understanding of all parties involved
  • Secure all required permits and verify insurance coverage for subs
  • Schedule and facilitate all project meetings required to successfully coordinate work activity
  • Supervise and manage project team members; set goals and evaluate performance for team members
  • Train and develop direct reports utilizing on the job and internal and external training or development opportunities
  • Provide general administrative and technical leadership for the project
  • Maintain all project records and monitor correspondence
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at owner and engineering firms
  • Participate in proposals and presentations as requested
  • Act as the primary contact with the fire alarm vendor in delivery of project

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years construction experience required
  • Undergraduate degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar qualifying experience
  • Experience managing projects successfully from start to finish
  • Skilled at negotiating and developing relationships with owners and subcontractors
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and evaluate a team; minimum 4 years supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and fire alarm commercial construction
  • Knowledge of industry, state, and local code requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret all contract drawings such as Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing,

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in engineering or business a plus
  • Working for an electrical contractor on large scale construction
  • DBIA and LEED Accreditation
  • Mass transit and rail, highway, water, aviation, or other infrastructure project experience
  • Fire Alarm NICET or related certification is desired
