Stand Together is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our team and help us make a lasting impact on society through strategic communications and media relations.
In this role, the Communications Coordinator will work alongside experienced communications professionals to help execute major national and regional earned media campaigns. The ideal candidate for this position must have strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a high degree of attention to detail.
Your Responsibilities Include
Drafting and distributing media advisories and press releases
Coordinating and posting communications items to website
Providing communications support to a team of directors and managers
Maintaining and updating media lists
Maintaining and updating communications calendars and trackers
Develop messaging documents and talking points
Working with vendors to track and manage news clips
Coordinate across internal and external teams and assist with project management
Monitoring media inboxes
Monitoring social media for trending/breaking news
Assist with coordinating press calls and press conferences
Assist with media-related research, as needed
Provide administrative support to the communications capability
Work on ad-hoc projects, as needed
Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization
At least 2 years experience in Capitol Hill, campaign, or similar fast-paced communications/press environments
A strong alignment with Stand Together's vision and mission
A contribution mindset and ability to thrive in a team environment
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once
Excellent time management and ability to prioritize
Passion for working with the media and eagerness to take on new challenges
