**Overview:**

Kings Dominion has an immediate opening for the position Catering Area Manager - Food & Beverage in Doswell, Virginia. This position will supervise the daily food operations within the Food and Beverage Department's Catering Operations, including kitchens, serving pavilions and park commissary. Ensures excellent guest service, food quality, presentation, safety and sanitation. This full time position will report to the park's Executive Chef.

**How You'll Make A Difference:**

* Assists with overall operation of the catering function.

* Responsible for food preparation, food production, event space coordination and set-up, event clean-up, etc for all catering and special event requests.

* Implements, controls and coordinates food policies, procedures and financial goals to include: handbooks, training and motivation, communication, cost of sales, per cap, labor costs, and other expenses.

* Ensures documentation and performance appraisals are maintained for all seasonal and part-time employees.

* Ensures food locations and kitchens are in compliance with health, fire, ABC and safety regulations.

* Maintains appropriate staffing levels and develops and implements employee retention programs to increase morale and productivity.

* Selects, trains, supervises and directs seasonal area supervisors.

* Ensures service, quality and integrity standards are maintained throughout the division.

* Assists with planning, costing and retailing of menu items.

* Ensures proper cash control and cash register operations.

* Ensures proper inventory and point of sale controls.

* Develops and monitors operating budget on an ongoing basis.

* Keeps abreast of industry trends and practices.

* Ensures the food division maximizes sales and profits.

* Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.

* Other duties as assigned.

**We're Looking For:**

* Bachelors degree in hotel and restaurant management, business management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

* Three to five years of food and beverage/kitchen operations experience.

* Demonstrated ability to work in an independent environment with minimum supervision and deliver against set goals.

* Strong time and project management skills and experience.

* Advanced written and oral communication skills, experience in public presentations, superior spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

* Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required by business and account demands.

* Proficient in basic business software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with learning new software.

* Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test and background check, which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy.

* Strong, instinctive work ethic.

* ServSafe Certified.
