Job Summary:

Objective Area Solutions (OAS) is seeking an experienced air traffic controller with significant experience separating and controlling air traffic in terminal and/or enroute environments as well as expertise in aviation safety reporting. This role will support the Joint Air Traffic Operations Command (JATOC) Event Investigation Management activities.

The role plays a crucial part in backing the Federal Aviation Administration, an entity charged with the vital task of ensuring the safety of 45,000 flights and 3 million passengers across more than 28 million miles of U.S. controlled airspace daily.
Key Responsibilities:

A successful candidate must have a minimum of 15 years of operational air traffic experience and be proficient in:
  • Conducting initial safety investigations for reporting significant aviation events
  • Applying advanced technical knowledge of and experience separating and controlling air traffic in an FAA terminal and /or enroute facility to conduct initial investigation of aircraft accidents, near mid-air collision reports, major service disruptions, and incidents
  • Preparing analytical reports concerning aviation incidents or events to compile and report results of investigations
  • Assisting in the compilation and review of audio and radar data, as well as other pertinent documentation, in determining causal factors, impacts, and findings regarding high visibility incidents.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in and engineering or other discipline (ATC experience may be substituted for a degree)
  • Operational air traffic control experience
  • Experience supporting aviation safety programs, processes, or reporting
  • Experience with safety management systems
