Job description
Supervise the deposit operations and processing areas and staff. Oversee the efficient processing of all items for our members to ensure information is accurate. Develop and implement strategies to continually improve area performance and contribute to overall credit union strategic goals. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and credit union policies and procedures.
Position Responsibilities
Department Operations
Supervise staff and area functions to achieve credit union goals and within credit union policies and procedures. Ensure all items are cleared within guidelines and in a timely manner.
Compose, update and review department policies and procedures.
Develop and monitor department budget and expenses.
Develop and implement strategies to continually improve performance, accuracy and productivity.
Manage third party vendors
Staff Management
Assist manager with all needed staff management responsibilities including interviewing candidates, making hiring recommendations, coaching, counseling and managing performance of staff. Complete performance appraisals.
Plans, directs and implements an on-going cross training program across areas.
Supports disaster recovery site
Accounting oversight
Conduct regular review of all applications in deposit operations department. Ensure all audits are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Systems oversight
Maintain relationship with core system processor. Ensure that core system meets departments' changing needs by exploring systems releases and implement any needed enhancements.
As needed, tests system operational functions and make the necessary request needed for system updates.
Make appropriate systems changes when credit union products are created or changed.
Maintain off-site remote support process
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in Business or Finance or equivalent work experience preferred
5 to 10 years of deposit operations experience as well as previous supervisory experience
Position is required to have personal contact with members and other credit union employees, thus diplomacy and tact are requirements.
Must be proficient with MS Office including strong excel, word and outlook
Ability to meet deadlines

Ability to manage multiple tasks
Strong attention to detail
Extensive knowledge of Federal Reserve processing
Proficient written and oral communications skills
Proven ability to coach, counsel and motivate staff
