HOW YOU WILL OUTSHINE:

Ensuringproduction operates without interruption by:
  • Managing cost, quality and on-time delivery of supplies
  • Providing excellent support to multiple internal and external customers while facilitatingseveral active accounts.
  • Expediting materials and components due to changes in customer demand, inventory discrepancies, or rejects.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
  • Creating and issuing purchase orders/forecasts for components after reviewing inventory needs to ensure that production operates without interruption, while meeting inventory targets. Perform frequent physical inventory counts to review / evaluate inventory levels meet production requirements.
  • Report on-time delivery performance on a monthly basis and take action to improve. Respond to supplier errors and take corrective action by issuing a DTR (delivery trouble report) and a CAR (corrective action request) to suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain min/max for store locations based on customer rate of sale. Update as conditions change. Minimize overflow condition.
  • Expediting of all materials and components due to changes in customer demand, inventory discrepancies, or rejects to ensure the efficient running of production lines.
  • Work closely with Purchasing Supplier Development at new model launch to ensure all required events are covered and mass production launch is secure.
  • Regularly communicate with suppliers about any open issues, problems or concerns to establish that the supplier is meeting the requirements of the purchase order agreement.
  • Track and report remaining/service inventory and/or deadstock at buildout timing.
  • Monitor and report on any design change to mass production item.
  • Address other issues and/or responsibilities as opportunities arise.

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree in business or related field or equivalent Purchasing/Procurement Mass Production Buyer experience described above

These qualifications are preferred but not necessary for you to get started:
  • 2 years of experience as a buyer, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Proficiency in MRP and Microsoft Office
  • Proven analytical ability
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Minimal Lifting required (max 40 lbs.) .5 hours
  • General Office Environment (6.5) hours per day
  • Manufacturing Environment (1.5) hour per day
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required to perform essential functions at remote locations or receive training.
