SoBran is seeking an Operations Support Specialist I to serve at a controlled access mail screening facility in Washington, D.C.

this position serves as a member of a multi-functional mail screening team. Members are responsible for the safe and efficient receiving, sorting, screening, and sampling of various types of mail from a wide array of customers. This entry-level position is designed to provide new employees with the baseline training required to perform the full range of mail screening (receiving and sorting), logistics, and support duties and responsibilities.

Duties will include:
  • Accountability of products entering and exiting warehouse Visually inspecting mail for suspicious stains or substances
  • Receiving and sorting incoming mail Screening mail (letters, parcels and flats) for potential contaminants following established guidelines, directives, and protocols Performing x-ray screening operations
  • Performing general logistics duties such as housekeeping/warehousing; and performance checks and service of equipment

Experience/Education Required:
  • Entry level experience in secure mail handling, mail security or similar operations Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs for 25 yards
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ALL candidates will be required to maintain all annual training courses provided by SoBran contract requirements. US Citizenship is required.
