Contracts Manager

Job description

The Contracts Manager for Capital Projects is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of contractual agreements related to the organization's capital projects. This role involves negotiating and drafting contracts with clients, vendors, and suppliers. The Contracts Managerwill be a key player in ensuring that contracts are legally sound, structured in the best interest of Client, and are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with clients, vendors, and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and conditions for capital projects.

* Contract Drafting: Create comprehensive and clear contractual documents, ensuring that legal terms, conditions, and specifications are accurately reflected.

* Risk Assessment: Evaluate and identify potential risks associated with contract terms and conditions, proposing mitigating strategies as necessary.

* Consolidate open contract negotiation items into a summary and present to Senior Leadership for decision.

* Compliance: Ensure that all contracts adhere to legal and regulatory requirements and align with the organization's policies and standards.

* Purchasing Negotiations: Engage in negotiations with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms for the purchase of goods and services.

* Contract Administration: Manage the lifecycle of contracts, from initiation to closeout, including tracking deliverables, deadlines, and compliance requirements.

Dispute Resolution: Resolve contractual disputes in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining positive relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders

* Attention to Detail: Review and analyze contracts with precision to identify potential issues or discrepancies.

* Project Management: Handle multiple contracts simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and project timelines are met.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or a related field. A Juris Doctor (JD) is a plus.

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in contract management (drafting, negotiating, reading) preferably in the field of capital projects/industrial clients.

* In-depth understanding of legal terms, standard contract terms and conditions, and contract law.

- Familiarity with purchasing and procurement processes.

- Understanding of legal processes/verbiage, managing purchasing, compliance

- Ability to effectively communicate complex legal and contractual terms to internal and external stakeholders

- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive/SharePoint, and Project as these will be daily tools for the role

- Experience Conducting negotiations with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial agreements.

- Strong Attention to Detail: Review and analyze contracts with precision to identify potential issues or discrepancies.

- Project Management Skills: Handle multiple contracts simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and project timelines are met.
