Program Assistant

Job description

Overview:

We are looking for a full-time Program Assistant to support USAIDs Bureau for Policy, Planning and Learning (PPL), which develops guidance, tools and training to help USAID missions worldwide implement Agency business practices related to strategic planning andprogram design. You will be responsible for assisting the 35-member Office of Strategic and Program Planning with daily tasks, drafting memos and other written communications, organizing and coordinating both internal and external meetings, supporting Office leadership, as well as other activities.



Responsibilities:
  • Research, analyze and write reports on topics relating to USAID programs.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and perform outreach with various teams inside and outside of USAID.
  • Plan and prepare meetings and events.
  • Draft meeting notes, correspondence, recommendations, reports, and memoranda.
  • Perform and monitor administrative requirements such as payroll, time and attendance records, and deadline tracking systems.
  • Coordinate and book travel for team members. Manage and advise travel procedures for staff including travel requirements: e.g., clearances, country travel concurrences, visas, and voucher preparations.
  • Manage shared organized electronic filing system.
  • Coordinate with other USAID bureaus when tasks require a collaborative response.
  • Other duties and special activities as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Current Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelors degree.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working in a position related to international policy & development.
  • USAID experience preferred.
  • Relationship management experience and ability to work under short-term deadlines.
