Senior medical office coordinator

Job description

Would you say you have experience providing world class customer service? We have a major university that is in need of someone with your expertise. We are currently looking for a experienced medical office coordinator to provide support for a multi-faceted clinical office to ensure a smoothly functioning office and good patient relations. This position will assist with referrals to other resources. Adapt to changes in technology and software to ensure efficient office practices. Maintain positive relationships with peers, and visitors by presenting a helpful and professional demeanor.

salary: $30 - $32 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the office space daily
  • Provide reception desk services for the office
  • Efficiently, accurately, and politely schedule appointments, in-person, by phone, and electronic communications including the appropriate system
  • Provide check-in and check-out services using current EHR
  • Collect and update demographic information on each patient to facilitate the patient encounter
  • Reinforce information for office visits (e.g., scheduled dates of service, information to bring to the visit, driving instructions, where to park, etc.)
  • Contact students to re-schedule appointments due to no-shows or staff absences
  • Routinely check voice mail and return calls within 24 hours
  • Collect insurance information and assist with check-in forms as needed
  • Assist patients in scheduling lab tests, imaging, procedures, and specialist referrals
  • Direct students to the appropriate resources
  • Prepare to support clinic activities from home in case of closure (install virtual desktop and keep reference lists as needed, and make sure to have cell or home phone numbers for staff)
  • Coordinate meetings and/or seminars (e.g., arrange logistics for meetings, space, refreshments, etc.)
  • Track medication inventory as needed
  • Maintain/order office supplies including inventory
