Local News Traffic / Breaking News Anchor Reporter
WBAL-TV, the NBC affiliate in Baltimore is now hiring a Traffic / Breaking News Anchor Reporter. We need a good storyteller who has excellent on-air presence and engagement skills. We wantsomeone who can captivate our viewers on social media and a journalist who will grow this position. You will report to the Assistant News Director.
Responsibilities
Prepare morning traffic report with graphics.
Provide concise live traffic reports for morning show.
Research and report up-to-the-minute traffic conditions.
Communicate morning traffic information to viewers through digital platforms including our station website, mobile app, and social media pages.
Gather information and report on breaking news from "11 News Live Desk."
Produce reporter stories for later newscasts.
Requirements
Professional or college experience as a journalist and storyteller in a commercial television station
Experience using traffic systems preferred
Suited to ad-lib in breaking news situations
Clear speech, basic knowledge of how to use a computer and basic knowledge of social media
Familiar with street and highway names and directions; quick to learn
Must be creative and work well with others
Related military experience will be considered
