Our client is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to join their growing engineering team! Our client is a world leader in the energy sector, with their facility in Champaign county having a paper mill and converting focus.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supporting ongoing projects, improvements, and changes within the facility.
Successful candidates will have a strong background of mechanical engineering experience within manufacturing environments to include Mechanical justification, design, vendor and equipment selection,
startup, and continuous improvements.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Design layouts, foundations, anchors, piping, controls, etc. for installation of new processes or
machinery, or revisions of existing ones.
- Provide practical effective solutions through analysis, design, and implementation of projects in close coordination with internal customers and other resources
- Prepare cost estimates and funding requests for improvement projects
- Produce designs that will be safe, maintainable, reliable, and environmentally and legally
acceptable.
- Plan and supervise installation of new plant projects coordinating process downtime, equipment deliveries, maintenance forces, contractors, and service suppliers.
- Produce a permanent record of each project, change, or improvement including drawings, manuals, part lists, etc.
Qualifications:
- Engineering B.S. and five years of experience in a manufacturing setting desired
- Effectively utilize computer-based applications including Microsoft Office, Solidworks, and AutoCad
- Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in team-based activities
- Exceptional analytical problem-solving and equipment vendor management skills
