Program Overview

The Adolescent Clubhouse provides recovery support for adolescents, age 12-17, who have either completed or are currently engaged in substance abuse treatment. The Adolescent Club House provides customized support for recovery in ways that traditional adolescent addiction treatment programs cannot. By combining a recovery-support model with evidence-based programs that are designed to attract young people, the Clubhouse will provide opportunities for socializing with others in recovery, while offering assistance with education, employment, and other needed services. By strengthening youth engagement in both substance abuse treatment and other important systems, the clubhouse aims to enrich positive adolescent development through schools and families.

Position Description

As a Security Guard, you will manage the surveillance of our premises and the protection of our staff and visitors. In addition, you will be responsible for:
  • Inspecting and patrolling the premises regularly.
  • Monitoring property entrance.
  • Authorizing entrance of people.
  • Reporting any suspicious behaviors and happenings.
  • Securing all exits, doors, and windows.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras.
  • Responding to alarms and reacting in a timely manner.
  • Aiding people in need.
  • Submitting reports of daily surveillance activity.
  • Submitting reports of every suspicious action.

The successful incumbent will have the ability to work Monday - Friday from 4pm - 8pm and some weekends as needed.

Qualifications
  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered as a security officer. Guard card or equivalent state certification a plus.
  • 5 years of experience as a Security Officer or similar role.
  • Good understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
  • Some experience with report writing.
  • Proficient surveillance and observation skills.
  • 5 years of experience in surveillance systems.
  • Trained in First Aid/Basic Life Support and self-defense.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Team player.
  • Baton or pepper spray certification a plus.
  • Available to work weekends as needed.

Work Environment
  • Normal office environment.
  • Occasional outdoor activity.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Ability to occasionally move about inside and outside the office.
  • Ability to position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to escort staff/clients if needed.
  • Ability to frequently communicate with employees/customers/clients; and must be able to exchange accurate information by perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral and written information.
  • Ability to protect youth in physical confrontation situations.
