Network Engineer/High Frequency SME

Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Designs and plans network communications systems.
  • Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Conducts testing of network design.
  • Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
  • Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.


Qualifications:

Minimum of 16 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 14 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 10 years with Ph.D.

  • Active Top Secret/SCI with polygraph required.
  • 15+ years of professional and technical experience
  • BS degree in relevant field of study - Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related scientific or technical discipline
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree
  • Experience providing tactical communications support to IC and/or DoD customers.
  • TEchnical knowledge and understanding of IC enterprise systems.
  • Proven track record of success and achievement working in a fast paced environment with a demonstrated ability to balance work and multitask, while supporting 24x7 operations and Maintenace managed IT systems and Microsoft Operations System severd during times of test, crisis or events.
  • IT, network and telecommunications experience.
  • Experience operating/maintaining HF/VHF/UHF radio systems.
  • Experience operating/maintaining fixed and mobile satellite communication systems.
  • COMSEC equipment and custodian experience is required
  • Experience with various GOTs secure phones and commercially available satellite and cell phones.

Target Salary Range:
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
