Responsibilities:

As an Operations Team Lead, you will apply advanced business and workflow knowledge to manage support the organizations functional and operational initiatives.

You will be responsible for the leadership, development and results of the organizations operational support to include production, finance, premium audit and compliance. Well rely on you to analyze data to identify issues and opportunities to improve processes and product, and to generate and implement solutions.

You will also work closely with managers and directors to align and support department operations and goals, and to execute on department strategy.

As an Operations Team Lead, you will fulfill the primary responsibilities of the role by executing the following:

  • Supervisory oversight and leadership of a team of operations analysts and associates to align day-to-day support and enhancement of operational processes and workflows across all functions of the company
  • Facilitate and oversee day-to-day department process and operational workflows, and set day-to-day operational objectives for team
  • Proactively review and analyze data to identify areas for process improvement, innovation, and opportunities for operational efficiency and synergy
  • Collaborate and work closely with our Data and Business Analysts teams to foster ideas to improve efficiencies with our processes and product, and assist in prioritizing project work
  • Provide timely coaching and feedback, and conduct crucial conversations to drive and manage individual and team performance
  • Assess talent, identify development and training opportunities, and collaborate with employees and department leaders to establish annual goals and create individual development plans
  • Partner with HR and leadership team to execute on our talent management strategies to increase employee engagement, drive performance and foster a psychologically safe environment
  • Address and resolve escalated business issues with both internal and external customers
  • Assist Operations Manager and Director with development and implementation of strategic organizational initiatives
  • Communicate status of team performance and progress of special tasks and projects to department and senior leadership
  • Collaborate with department leadership to identify training needs
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the BerkleyNet business and procedures
  • May lead or participate in special and/or cross-functional project teams related to company strategic initiatives
  • Assist in review and planning of annual department budgets

Education

  • Prefer one of the following: CPCU, ARM, or other insurance designation
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • 2 - 5+ years experience in the Insurance industry preferably with Workers Compensation background
  • Ability to make decisions incorporating diverse perspectives

Travel Requirements

  • Low level of domestic U.S. travel required (up to 10% of time)
