VTG is seeking a Space Vehicle Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA.

We are looking for an engineer to support one of our SPOs in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of satellite system development and acquisitions.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Provide technical support and participate in customer activities, such as program readiness and design reviews

Represent the Government Customer as a technical representative of the program office, interfacing directly with Development Contractors management teams and technical staff

Review design material to identify issues, assess maturity, identify risks, and propose potential solutions

Work in a team to ensure proper requirement Verification and Validation methodology is executed by the developer

Review test plans, provide feedback to the Government Customer and the Development Contractors, observe discrete tests, and provide technical assessments of progress to the program office team

Identify space system development and Integration and Testing risks; provide inputs to risk management processes, including proposed risk mitigation approaches

Provide oversight of on-going acquisitions, with specific focus on ensuring end-to-end system closure and satisfaction of mission need

Review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure content, technical accuracy, and sufficiency of design details to meet program requirements and objectives

Required Qualifications:

TS/SCI with Poly required

BS Degree

Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills

Knowledge of how space systems are designed, specified, developed, manufactured, and tested

Desired Qualifications:

Advanced understanding of optical systems and associated electronics, space qualification, procurement, integration and test, and mission design
