Join Us In Beautiful Annapolis

Nestled deep in the beautiful bay area 5 minutes from downtown Annapolis is our new state-of-the-art referral center open 24 hours and 375 days a year. We have 24+ Veterinarians, 60+ Technicians, 15+ Assistants and 10+ Client Service Representatives. We work side-by-side with differentspecialty departments and care for their patients overnight. Technicians will gain experience working with neurology, surgery, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, rehabilitation and ophthalmology cases. It is a great field to develop your skills and there is always something new and exciting to learn in our spacious conference room where we host continuing education for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

We are currently hiring for the following shift: 2pm - 12am

Diverse & Inclusive Team Dynamic

Besides patient care, there is nothing more important to use than to be a welcoming and supportive hospital. We value our staff for everything that they are and the cultures that made them. AAVEC prides itself on being active in the community that we serve by volunteering with multiple organizations, providing pet CPR training for local referring veterinarians and fire stations, sponsoring Annapolis PRIDE annually, and paying for our technicians to become registered. We invest in our teams because we know we could not do this without them. They mean everything to us, and because of that, throughout the year we make sure they know it by:

* Throwing Quarterly Parties & Team Building Activities (Staff Olympics, Pumpkin Decorating Contests, Secret Santa, etc.)

* Celebrating Milestones & Achievements (Graduations, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Birthdays & Anniversaries, etc.)

* Decorating the Hospital Throughout the Year (Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, etc.)

* Donating to important causes on behalf of the staff (SPCA, Breast Cancer Awareness, Suicide Awareness, etc.)

Time Off

At AAVEC we believe in plenty of sleep and healthy lifestyles which means that we do not require our technicians to work every shift at different times throughout the month. The shift you are hired for is the shift time you will work every shift. This will help your life have some normalcy and consistency. We also believe in LOTS of vacations and spending quality time with your loved ones. Our rotation schedule was created by our veterinary technicians with the intent that it would allow them to take multiple vacations a year with using very little of their paid time off and would keep them from having to work every weekend. Every other week you will have 4 days off in a row over the weekend. (Friday - Monday Off). With only using 1 day of your PTO you are able to take 7 days off in a row multiple times a year. Your schedule is also tentatively made for the entire year so you can make plans long in advance and also have a part time hobby or job if you so choose.
