**Inventory Technician**

at Somatus Fairfax, VA **GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Inventory Technician is responsible for the accurate accounting of inventory including receiving, processing, recording and distributing supplies and materials. He/she will perform a variety of clerical duties including data entry and maintenance of files and records.

**ESSENTIAL TASKS**

* Keeps track of status of ordered equipment and supplies.

* Contacts vendors when expected items are overdue.

* Coordinates the delivery of supplies to hospital sites as needed.

* Maintains and prepares detailed records and files using appropriate inventory logs.

* Ensures proper completion of a variety of inventory forms.

* Interfaces with vendors to monitor location of distributed controlled assets as directed.

* Performs annual physical inventory of equipment and parts as assigned.

**ADDITIONAL TASKS ASSIGNED TO SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS**

* Assists in the maintenance of the asset management database system.

* Checks shipments for soundness, condition, shortage or discrepancies.

* Receives, accepts and unpacks incoming materials and supplies.

* Issues materials, supplies, parts and equipment per established processes and procedures.

* Packages materials for shipping, delivery or return and keeps appropriate records.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

*Required*

* High School Diploma or GED required.

* Valid Driver's License.

* Data entry and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications in both design and use required.

* Exceptional organization and contingency planning skills.

*Preferred*

* Thorough knowledge of inventory/stock control practices, shipping and receiving practices.

* Experience as a warehouse worker in product identification, handling and storage procedures, planning and tracking receivables and deliverables on both scheduled and unscheduled cycles.

* Significant knowledge and skills in coordination and planning.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**

* Significant standing, walking, moving, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.

* Ability to lift and balance up to 50 pounds overhead.
