Graphic Design Internship

Job description

Overview:

Systems Planning & Analysis (SPA) delivers high-impact, technical solutions to complex national security issues. With more than 50 years in business, we are known for continuously innovating for government customers, both long-established and newly acquired as our capabilities expand around the globe. Our work is state-of-the-art, made possible by the best personnel, the best tools, and the best jobs in the national security business. We are highly collaborative in spirit and practice, freely sharing expertise among ourselves in our quest for enduring solutions to critical concerns. Come work with the best. Our pledge is stability, opportunity, and clear-sighted commitment to the mission.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Design Intern to support our Communications Team across a number of internal and external projects. The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for assisting our Senior Graphic Designer in finding and creating imagery for social media, conference materials, marketing materials, and contract work, as needed. The intern will also get the opportunity to work on projects that involve reformatting existing templates or creating new templates within Microsoft Office Suite.

Our Communications Team receives a high volume of work from across the company, so the Graphic Design Intern should be prepared to manage their time effectively in a fast-paced environment, remaining organized from project to project. During their time at SPA, the intern should expect to develop their digital design, photography, and computer skills.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about the critical role that graphic design and communications play in supporting corporate functions and our broad customer base.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in graphic design, fine arts, digital media, or relevant field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience using illustration and photo editing programs such as Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop
  • Experience in page layout design using programs such as Adobe InDesign
  • Ability to design creative media for print and digital products

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with PC versions of Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud and Microsoft Office preferred, but not required
