Job description

Role: Staff Accountant

Hiring Type : Contract to hire

Location: Washington D.C.

Pay: $35 - $40 / Hour

Office Schedule: in office 2x a week

Our client, a well-known and reputable non-profit is looking to add a Staff Accountant to their

team. They are looking for someone who can start immediately and has experience in a non-profit environment! This is an exciting long-term consulting opportunity for a mission driven organization with potential to convert in the future.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
3-5 years of experience with full cycle accounting
Strong communication and organizational skills
Must have experience updating service agreements/contracts

Responsibilities
Collaborate on month-end close activities, including reconciliations, analysis, and responding to audit requests.
Manage daily accounts receivables transactions.
Handle customer credit card processing and cash application.
Conduct multi-state sales tax reviews and manage related returns.
Enter journal entries and undertake additional duties as assigned.
Contribute to year-end reporting processes.
