SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Test and Evaluation Engineer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking 2 full-time Mid-Level Test Engineers in Newport, RI and Fairfax, VA. Theselected candidates will join a highly talented team responsible for testing theAN/BYG-1 Fire Control System for US Submarine Force. The team is responsiblefor the test, evaluation, and design verification of the system underdevelopment. Additionally, the team ensures functional and technicalspecifications and standards are met, as well as investigate software/hardware interfaceproblems. Responsibilities include developing, modifying, and executing testplans, test procedures, and test reports. Ideal candidates will have working knowledge of AN/BYG-1 & WeaponsLaunch Consoles. Experience with LinuxOperating systems is a plus. Experience with Strike Software (TTWCS, TCIP, and MDS) is desired. While this position will mostlyhave regular business hours, some overtime hours and travel may be required.

Qualifications:

Education: Advanced submarine technical training (e.g. Navy "A" or "C" School) and a minimum of 5 years of Submarine Combat Control Weapon Systemexperience can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Experience: Working knowledge of AN/BYG-1 & Weapons Launch Consoles is required. Navy experience as a Fire Control Technician (FT) or similar rating is desired.

SEACORP follows ITAR guidelines for the work it performs as a federal contractor. Consequently, US citizenship is needed for all positions requiring a security clearance.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: This position operates in standard Office, Assembly Laboratory, and Aboard Vessel/Shipyard environments. Standard offices and laboratories: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In shipyards and aboard vessels: Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of <40 lbs.; occasional lifting >40 lbs. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in highly variable work conditions to include seasonable variations in weather and temperature. High probability of working in confined spaces where movement is restricted. Dust, noise and constant activity associated with the movements of materials and people, and the fabrication of steel, including welding and the use of overhead cranes/hoists. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes and hard hat required; hearing protection and safety glasses recommended.
