Introduction\rGRADE20\rLOCATION OF POSITIONMDH-John L Gildner RICA\r15000 Broschart Rd.\rRockville, MD 20850\rMain Purpose of JobThe main purpose of this full time contractual position is to provide psychiatric nursing care to adolescents with emotional disabilities and court involved youth on a Residential Unit. This position requires medication administration and daily management of groups of adolescents. This position is in charge of and responsible for the delivery of nursing care and an assigned unit. This position will be in training for Charge Nurse duties. This recruitment will perform duties on the 2nd shift (2:30p-11:00p).\r\r\rPer the Amended Directive and Order Regarding Vaccination (MDH # 2023.04.18.03) issued by the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health, effective April 18, 2023, staff in all hospitals and residential facilities operated by the Maryland Department of Health or any local health department are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Staff includes, but is not limited to, regular and contractual employees, contractual staff, volunteers, and other state employees performing any duties at the facility. An individual may request an accommodation by providing appropriate and sufficient documentation for bona fide medical or religious reasons.\rMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses.\rExperience: None. \rDESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSThe desired candidate should possess experience\rworking with adolescents with emotional disabilities and court involved youth.\r\rLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license inparty states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence. \r2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator s license valid in the State of Maryland. \r3. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training. \rSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS1. Employees in this classification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be required to provide the facility with a phone number at which they can be reached. \r2. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.\rBENEFITS\r\rContractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\rLeave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period.
