Senior Software Systems Safety Engineer

Our valued client has an opening for a full-time Senior Systems Software (Safety) Engineer to support the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) System Safety Program. The successful candidate will join the System Safety Team, providing tailored Warfare System and System Safety Engineering support to the CPS program. The ideal candidate should be an energetic self-starter, able to articulate complex technical issues clearly in verbal and written formats, work independently and in team environments, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks in parallel.Required Experience:

15+ years professional experience in software engineering, with at least 7 years in Systems Safety.Experience in safety programs such as Aegis Combat and Weapon Systems, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD), Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), NIFC-CA, DDG-1000, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), or US Coast Guard programs.Experience in Weapon System Explosives Safety Review Board (WSESRB) and the Software Systems Safety Technical Review Panel (SSSTRP).Experience in database administration, computer programming (C and C++), and hazard tracking databases.Formal degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline preferred.2 years' experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.Description of Duties:

Provide technical, operational, and engineering support for systems and software engineering teams.Conduct analyses and assessments of safety risks.Participate in and lead engineering and safety reviews.Conduct risk assessment studies with a focus on software risk.Prepare reports and briefs.Present materials to formal boards including WSESRB.Analyze System Safety Plans, Safety Management Plans, and safety test documentation/plans.Research, design, develop, and test software used in DoD weapon systems.Utilize state-of-the-art model-based tools.Analyze engineering artifacts associated with system design and development.Travel Requirement:

Regional and infrequent travel required.Must be able and willing to travel in support of tasks, including getting underway if required.Security Clearance Requirements:

US citizenship required.Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Shift:
