Job Title : Legal Intern

Duration: June 3, 2024 - July 26, 2024(8-weeks)

Hours: 20-30 hours/week

Position Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, focused and detail-oriented intern to join our team and support the legal department. The intern will have daily interaction with attorneys and gain valuable experience in all aspects of an in-house legal department including supporting and reviewing healthcare-related agreements and other legal documents. The intern may also conduct research assignments on a variety of legal issues, including privacy, healthcare and other regulations and state statutes, among others. Ideal candidates should have a strong interest in law, healthcare and technology policy or other related fields.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and summarize legal issues on an as-needed basis
  • Support the review and organization of commercial contracts and agreements
  • Provide support for tasks associated with the legal department
  • Protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of CareMetx information in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Participate in bi-weekly department meetings
  • Collaborate with a small legal department interacting with attorneys on a daily basis
Requirements & Minimum Skills:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college/law school
  • Preferred candidate enrolled in law, liberal arts or business degree program
  • Exceptional writing and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to meet deadlines and timeframes
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Schedule:
Will be determined based on Intern's schedule and departmental needs.
