**ABOUT THE POSITION:**

This position is a new role and a rare opportunity for growth within a well-established architectural design firm. The intended position will serve in a studio leadership role to support the design and execution of multiple projects. The firm consists of multiple architectural studio groups that regularly engage in various complex projects and building types, including public safety, library, recreational, judicial, and other diverse community-oriented building types. As the roles and responsibilities of this newly created role scale and increase with tenure, the lead interior designer will be responsible for expanding and managing an interior full design team.

The lead interior designer shall integrate with established project teams to develop, and assist with the development, of interior design solutions. The position will require an active role in the continued development and maintenance of MW Studios' Quality Design Assurance Program, leadership in maintaining and elevating the firm's design capabilities.

**Requirements**

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Research interior architectural products, systems, equipment, and assemblies

* Regularly collaborate with studio teams to develop interior design and interior related construction documents in a complete and timely manner

* Engage with principal staff, specification writers, and studio leaders to refine and maintain quality control standards related to interior design

* Provide continued development and improvement of product library and data sheets

* Serve as a general technical support resource for staff for items related to interior design

* Maintain an awareness of industry products, reference standards, and resources

* Work alongside the lead architectural designer to review the work of various studios to ensure quality

* Develop finish schemes, including preparing presentations, precedent imagery, interior concept renderings, material finish boards, etc.

* Develop contract documents and construction drawings utilizing Revit for items related to interior finish items, including but not limited to the development of finish plans, furniture plans, interior elevations, casework detailing, and lighting plans

* Occasionally prepare furniture fixture and equipment plans and assist clients in the procurement of such goods

* As roles and responsibilities scale with workload and tenure, this position will be responsible for managing between 1-4 additional interior designers

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture.

* A minimum of 10 years of related experience

* NCIDQ Certification or Pending Certification

* Excellent design sense with a demonstrated mastery of developing designs solutions with strong materiality, rhythm, scale, proportion, and form

* Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment

* Must be highly skilled in quickly developing compelling hand-generated sketches and graphics

* Excellent English language communication skills, both written and verbal

* Must be highly proficient in Revit and demonstrate experience in developing construction contract drawings.

* Experience with Sketchup is a plus

* Experience with Enscape rendering software a plus

* Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Indesign is highly preferred

* Expertise with PowerPoint and developing compelling presentations is highly preferred
