Support Coordinator - Scientific Instrumentation

Job description

Our client, a leader in the diagnostics and life sciences industry, is seeking a Support Coordinator for Scientific Instrumentation to join their Rockville, Maryland team. This role serves as a critical customer service and administrative point of contact, managing medical instrument repair requests through the company's proprietary service management databases. This entry-level, yet essential position involves direct interaction with professional and vendor staff to facilitate on-site services and ensure operational excellence in support functions.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process work order requests using the company's service management systems, and provide timely customer responses.
  • Act as the primary customer contact, enhancing user experience with superior service skills.
  • Coordinate logistical and compliance aspects of on-site services with both in-house technicians and external vendors.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control over service documentation and manage site access and orientation for external personnel.


Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service orientation and professional interaction skills, capable of managing relations with scientists and vendors.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office 365 and database systems; familiarity with ERP or asset management software preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, adept at multitasking and meeting tight deadlines in a team setting or independently.
  • Minimum of an Associate degree or High school diploma with 3+ years in a customer-focused, team-based environment.


This position requires wearing personal protective equipment and involves frequent onsite movement to meet the needs of both settings. Candidates should be comfortable occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds and must strictly adhere to our comprehensive safety and hazardous materials protocols.
