**Job Description**

The IT Support Specialist maintains computer operations for EnCompass staff and consultants located in the Rockville and Washington DC offices and works virtually around the globe. The IT Support Specialists duties include user and desktop support (hardware and software), helpdesk, and data management to ensure smooth delivery of technology services.

**Due to COVID-19, and subject to situational changes, the position is expected to be fully remote through** **November** **30, 2021****, and can be remote long-term for the right candidate.** **Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.**As a covered Federal contractor, EnCompass must comply with the President's Executive Order 14042 and the follow-on guidance issued by Safer Federal Workforce Task Force on COVID-19 Workplace Safety. Therefore, **all US-based EnCompass employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021**, to include staff working from home.

**Position Duties and Responsibilities Essential functions:**

Provides technical support to staff on hardware and software related issues either by phone, online or in person

Installs and configures software and hardware (printers, network cards etc.)

Researches and responds to IT related questions; troubleshoot problems; maintains workstation and LAN performance

Provides training for systems, platforms, and applications

Maintains software licenses and upgrades schedules

Monitors system and network performance and diagnoses hardware/software faults

Supports transitions to new systems, platforms, and applications

Keeps track of all Windows 10 issues from patches, features, deployment, permissions on the ticketing system

Installs requested application/s on the user machine

Maintains computer and video equipment in the conference rooms, copiers and phones; provides technical support to users when problems arise

Communicates with IT vendors (i.e., Dell, UBT, etc.) to troubleshoot and resolve any technical problems

Engages fully as a member of the EnCompass staff team, including participating in staff meetings and other EnCompass functions

Other duties as assigned

**Position Requirements**

*Qualifications*

Minimum of a Bachelors degree in IT field and 4 years experience working in an office environment

*Experience and Skills*

Must have experience providing IT Hardware and Software Deployment, Troubleshooting, and Problem Resolution support to end users

Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Ability to work in a changing and dynamic work environment

Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a diverse group of staff

Demonstrated experience in working on multiple priorities consecutively and sequentially and meeting quality standards for accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed

Experience with working with and maintaining databases

Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality

Must be oriented to customer service and have the ability to work in front of the customers, utilizing remote tools, and through email

Must have experience working in a help desk / service desk, or customer service

Ability to work in an appreciative and strengths-based environment

Must have IT experience, including a good understanding of networking and/or network monitoring

Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of website applications a plus

Knowledge of Microsoft products including but not limited to O365, SharePoint, and Outlook

Working knowledge of active directory for Windows group policy settings
