Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. Provides input into functions strategy and stays up to date on the latest advancements in the field.

We are seeking a seasoned Data Science leader who is an expert at connecting the dots between business, data and tech, can lead a global team of data scientists, operate with a startup mentality to deliver new products and establish our experimentation framework in Humana Pharmacy Solutions.

Against that backdrop we are looking for a highly talented Data Science professional to deliver world-class AI/machine learning driven strategies and experiences for our pharmacy customers. As the AVP, Data Science, your mission is focused on executing on approaches and projects related to advanced analytics, causal inference, and machine learning. This role is responsible for leveraging mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic products. The role is also responsible with providing recommendations to shape Humana Pharmacy Solution strategy in partnership with business.

Role Responsibilities:

The AVP, Data Science develops, maintains, and collects structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting. Creates reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. Provides input into functions strategy and stays up to date on the latest advancements in the field.

The AVP, Data Science develops criteria for the prioritization, implementation, and scaling of Data Science and other analytical products. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an agile work environment, managing large and complex analytic projects, navigating cloud infrastructure, implementation of models results in real-time, and is familiar with good coding and version control practices. The ideal candidate also has experience managing statistical software infrastructure needs and understanding the infrastructure needs of an advanced analytics team. Further, the candidate has experience building a strategy to support the business through innovative and sound model deployment, while fostering relationships with business to become a champion for data science through demonstrating in an easily understood narrative the value proposition.

Responsible for end-to-end development, delivery and integration of analytics/data product working with cross-functional teamsCollaborates with business stakeholders to develop analytical product roadmap and deliver projects from concept to launch in a fast-paced environmentSetting strategy for development and deployment of machine learning/predictive models in an eCommerce setting to achieve business goals in a rapidly growing, highly entrepreneurial environmentDeveloping and successfully activating eCommerce data science strategies to personalize customer experience, with hands-on approach to executionProvides strategic direction for cloud implementation and department utilization of SASIn-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segmentDevelop a diverse team of analytics professionals and works to foster growth in their analytics associates

What you will bring to the table:

Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics and/or Applied Science related field5 - 10 years, leading diverse team of Data Scientists5 - 10 years, in an analytics role, expertise in advance analytics (data science, Machine Learning, Cloud operation) with balanced technical knowledge, operational experience, and business acumenE-commerce, PBM, Pharmacy, Healthcare or managed care experienceA deep technical background in applied data science, spanning some or all statistics, experimentation, machine learning, causal methods, optimization techniques, data engineering and architecture (applied to large data), and behavioral analyticsExperience leveraging large sets of structured and unstructured data to develop tactical and strategic insightsExperience developing, validating, and deploying machine learning or statistical models in a production, real-time environmentExperience producing and demonstrating value from analytics products and projectsStrong communication skills. The ability to successfully comprehend and communicate advanced analytics artifacts, business insights, and resulting implications to non-technical business partners.Flexible, dynamic personality who works well in a team environment and is able to lead a diverse team of data scientists, statisticians, and advanced analytics professionalsMust be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiencesExperience with Python, R, SAS or other statistical programming language

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics and/or related field and 6 or more years of experienceExperience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google CloudExperience with software version control practices using gitExperience with an agile and/or scrum frameworkExperience performing data management, mining, and manipulation along with analytics
