**Description**

**Job Summary and Minimum Qualifications:**

Provides a wide range of training and functional support for Frederick Health Hospitals Perioperative Services Electronic Health Record (EHR) software solutions. Coordinates and provides direction of the IS Methodology process to end users and communicates status to management. Assist in software system evaluation, updates, and migrations.

Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.

**Examples of Essential Functions**

Coordinates training for software systems

Creates and maintains curriculum and training materials for Perioperative EHR software systems as well as related software solutions.

Creates relevant scenarios based on clinical environments to include OR, PACU, SSDS, ENDO, Posting, Registration/check-in and Cath Lab.

Organizes training sessions, schedules attendees, ensures participation, and conducts training classes to ensure success.

Develops and facilitates pre and post training assessments.

Maintains records related to training and assessment results.

Builds and maintains training environment.

Assists with the application of new software releases. Tests and verifies functionality, determines training and workflow needs, and coordinates training sessions as needed

Assists in the maintenance of central and shared data sources and tools including medication and formulary lists.

Provides ongoing system support for clinical settings. Maintains call records using Issue Log to document problems and resolutions.

Resolves problems with vendor(s) as necessary.

Evaluates and communicates issue status and alternatives, where available.

Documents and communicates system change and customization requests to clinical informatics and technical council.

Develops and adapts department policies and procedures related to the EHR system use to include downtime as necessary. Submits policy recommendations to department manager.

Provides support through demos and other efforts as assigned.

Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, product enhancement needs, and federal and state government initiatives.

Monitors and supports interfaces to and from the EHR and HIS systems. Reports issue where data are reported as not updating either system.

**Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required**

Baccalaureate Degree and /or RN strongly preferred.

Three years of healthcare delivery experience.

Two years of experience with clinical software, preferably in clinical informatics.
