Principal RF Photonics Engineer - Advanced Technology (Hybrid)

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, simulate, build and demonstrate RF Photonic systems needed to execute US Government research and development contracts
  • Provide RF Photonic component and subsystem subject matter expertise to system engineers
  • Manage component and packaging vendor interactions
  • Write reports detailing test results to stakeholders, including government sponsors
  • Perform forward looking company sponsored research and development projects
  • Participate in new business proposal efforts


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities, along with confident presentation skills
  • Works well in a group environment to include engineers, technicians, and support personnel


Preferred Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have working experience in the theory, application, design, and implementation of RF photonic systems.
  • Knowledge of packaging for RF Photonic components including package design, and assembly techniques.
  • Excellent laboratory skills including test experience with systems operating at >10GHz
  • Hands on test and data analysis experience for systems that span both RF and optical domains
