Harmonia Holdings Group, LLC, an award-winning federal government contractor, has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Accountant to join our team
Harmonia is an exciting, ever-growing company in the government contracting sector. The Accounting Department is currently restructuring to better fit the needs and growth of the company, and we are in need of a Staff Accountant to join our team. This position will report directly to the Controller, be required to work independently, and must occasionally be available to work some evenings and/or weekends, depending on the time of year or needs of CPAs and auditors. There is room for advancement with this position.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed; meet the education and work experience required; and must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties, in addition to the below, may be assigned as necessary to meet business needs.
Responsibilities include:
Review funding structure and invoice requirements within government contracts
Assist Program Managers with setup of contracts in the ERP system
Generate and submit accurate, timely invoices with supporting documentation
Regularly review Accounts Receivable aging report and follow up with clients on payments as needed
Maintain inventory of office furniture and other non-computer equipment assets and work with IT to track computer equipment and obtain computer equipment from terminated employees
Assist Controller with reconciliations, DCAA audits, and other financial audits
Manage Fresh Desk, Our issue Ticketing System
Act as ERP SME
Assist accounting management with reconciliations or other as-needed tasks
Qualifications:
Required minimum 4-year accounting education or equivalent bookkeeping experience
Experience with Asset Management
Experience with government contract billing a plus
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
Able to analyze and reconcile financial data
Preferred proficiency with Excel spreadsheet-building
Preferred experience Jamis ERP System
Office located in McLean, Va
