This role is responsible for assisting the Director in leading the day-to-day operations of the Retail Distribution Facility. In this role, the manager will oversee and manage all processes in a safe and efficient manner in order to maximize productivity while maintaining a high standard of quality control. Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in all aspects of a Retail Distribution Center and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, distribution center or high-volume warehouse management.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES RETAIL DISTRIBUTION CENTER MANAGER:**

* Manage the daily operations throughout the various departments within the Retail Distribution Center by directing area supervisors to allocate work and monitor daily productively levels

* Maintain productivity standards and department goals with a hands on accountability style of management

* Oversee day-to-day operational procedures, processes and issues which includes managing, scheduling, routing, unloading, and staging of inventory

* Implement and administer policies and procedures as directed from the Director

* Partner with the Director, the department supervisors and HR to hire, motivate, train, evaluate, and develop associates

* P&L responsibilities as well as participates with executive management

* Works with Senior Management to plan, develop and control budget

* Overall responsibility for inventory (cycle counts) in the Retail Distribution Center.

* Understand inbound flow through communication with purchasing and reporting

* Responsible for the integrity of our outbound carriers and their shipments to our retail chain

* Oversee warehouse activities, analyzing all efforts, identifying practices that could streamline processes and ensure that quality and accuracy are maintained

* Support and maintain effective communication and interaction among internal warehouse departments and all retail distribution center associates

* Drive the Retail Distribution Center team to achieve company performance objectives

* Develop, recommend and implement solutions for improvement when needed

* Maintain a pro-active, safe, and consistent environment for all employees

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:**

* Associates degree required; Bachelor degree in business administration or logistics highly preferred.

* Five or more years management experience in high volume, automated distribution environment

* Solid knowledge of distribution center practices and procedures including safety protocols and warehouse management systems

* Strong problem-solving skills required; Must be able to exercise sound judgment within defined parameters

* Knowledge of budgeting and expense control to plan, implement, and control expenditure while maintaining and improving quality standards

* Strong analytical skills and fluent in material handling systems

* Ability to plan, organize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously

* Ability to mentor, train, and develop associates and foster a team environment with a lead by example style of management

* Proven teambuilding and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others

* Ability to communicate both written and verbally with peers, management, contractors and vendors

* Ability to stand for eight hours per day. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

* Ability to work in conditions typical of a warehouse environment, including moderate noise levels and varied temperatures and the ability to work various schedules that include all hours of the distribution operation

* Ability to occasionally travel to store locations on an as needed basis
