Journeyman Assistant Security Specialist

Job description

ECS is seeking a Journeyman Assistant Security Specialist to work at our Arlington, VA office.

Job Description:
  • Assist in Personnel Security with Basic knowledge of Industrial and Physical Security (Indoctrinations and Debriefs, Visit request incoming and outgoing, Maintain personal records, Foreign Travel submissions)
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy custom applications and scripts to manage PC's.
  • Develop a remediation strategy for the vulnerabilities to be bring up to ICD 705 SCIF standards.
  • Ensure the most vital pieces of anti-terrorism / force protection equipment are used to its full potential.
  • Conduct audits and vulnerability assessments of DoD vendors of weapon systems, ammunition and explosives programs.
  • Provide unclassified vulnerability assessments to DoD contractors for securing government equipment for loss and theft management.
  • Support several information security initiatives including testing software vulnerabilities, PKI applications, DITSCAP and user account management.
  • Ensure review of security applications submit for completion and accuracy to determine type and scope of investigation before submitting to OPM.


Required Skills:
  • 3years of experience with security management or analysis of security data and information
  • Experience with defining security objectives
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with leading meetings and developing presentations/briefings for use by senior leaders
  • Ability to work independently and be flexible to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
  • Possession of strong technical writing, as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree


Desired Skills:
  • Experience developing security protocols and fielding, integrating, and/or training at the user or staff level
  • Experience with capability development and capability gap analyses across Army doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, facilities, and policy (DOTMLPF-P) domains
  • Knowledge of the Army Security Systems and its role in supporting Army security posture management requirements
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Master's degree
  • U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) and/or U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) graduate
