Job Summary:

The Lead BCBA is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who ensures the delivery of high-quality clinical care in accordance with our Acorn clinical tenets at the assigned clinical center level. The successful candidate will work in a team-oriented, best-practice driven environment and engage in a wide range of activities, focused on assisting in providing clinical management and oversight to their respective clinical team.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Promote a therapeutic environment for all clients, ensuring client input is fully considered when developing and carrying out treatment plans; serve as reviewer/approver of all timely treatment and behavior plans
  • Responsible for providing clinical management and oversight to a team of BCBAs
  • Provide practicum supervision
  • Oversee pends, denials, and peer reviews with payers for all BCBAs, ensuring no lapses in authorizations
  • Problem solve issues with supervisees when insufficient progress toward client goals/outcomes is observed via a review of relevant behavioral data
  • Regularly reference behavior analytic literature and attend relevant conferences and workshops in order to best inform evidence-based treatment
  • Conduct both staff and caregiver training(s)
  • Execute pre-established clinical policies and procedures
  • Responsible for completing annual performance evaluations for reporting BCBAs to determine potential for improvement and ensure treatment integrity; conduct Case Management Oversight (CMO) in accordance with policy
  • Pinpoint performances that allow supervisees to achieve measurable outcomes valuable to the client
  • Maintain a semi-reduced clinical caseload, involving direct assessment and treatment of clients in a clinical center, client's home, school, etc.
  • Responsible for the staffing, interviewing and hiring of BCBAs and registered/behavior technicians
  • Intensify behavioral supports for Acorn clients in order for them to maintain placement in the least restrictive environment and reduce utilization of hospitalization and/or residential services
  • Handle sensitive employee relations issues with integrity, either individually or with the assistance of Human Resources
  • Multiple Centers may be assigned based on center size. Time spent in assigned centers will be determined by RDCC.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION
  • Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience practicing as a BCBA


OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have experience managing teams and projects, as well as conducting large group trainings and meetings
  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, and able to improve performance through management feedback and direction
  • Must have a strong commitment to the mission and purpose of Acorn
  • Must have an ability to work independently
  • Must work irregular hours when necessary
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, professionally, and openly, verbally and in writing, in English
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and satisfactory driving record
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the position, to include lifting of clients, packages, or equipment, accessing non-barrier free premises, and utilizing physical management techniques when required
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate an ability to maintain confidential records, prepare reports and reliably develop timely correspondence related to work according to agency standards
  • A history of work with children, adolescents, young adults, and/or families both in clinical settings and in client homes is essential. Specific training/experience in developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders is highly preferred.
  • Training in Safety Care preferred
  • Proficiency with Central Reach highly preferred
