**Responsibilities**

This Supervisory Transportation Security Specialist (Cyber-Policy) position is located in the Cyber Security Section, Surface Division, Policy, Plans, and Engagement, Operations Support (OS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:

+ Engages with industry stakeholders across all transportation modes to collaboratively develop cybersecurity policy and cyber risk mitigation measures, and provides guidance, oversight, and direction for the lower-band section staff supporting the Industry Engagement Managers across all transportation modes.

+ Uses advanced technical knowledge and experience of surface transportation cybersecurity to advance the objectives of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mission by engaging with executive level industry and governmental entities.

+ Assists in developing countermeasures, through policy, to report and mitigate risks and consequences to surface transportation systems. Collaborates with transportation stakeholders and other government agencies involved in the development of new and updated policies and capabilities to mitigate cybersecurity risks to the transportation system.

+ Coordinates with the modal Industry Engagement Managers to ensure effective communication of this information with transportation industry stakeholders.

+ Receives and analyzes industry and cross-industry best practice cybersecurity standards, develops key mitigation policies that are designed to reduce risks to the nation's critical cyber infrastructure, participates in cybersecurity partnerships with and across critical infrastructure owners, operators and state, local, tribal and territorial government, promotes collaborative efforts to reduce risks and threats to critical information, enterprise, communications, and control systems, participates as a presenter in conferences and symposia relating to cybersecurity initiatives, builds national-level cybersecurity coalitions to promote information sharing, and participates in cybersecurity training and exercises for surface transportation stakeholders.

+ Serving as a supervisor and directs all aspects of the work of subordinate employees including planning and assigning, reviewing and evaluating work and performance, setting priorities, coaching and employee development, approving leave and recommending and/or approving disciplinary actions.

+ Manages subordinate employees, providing ongoing feedback regarding performance and progress towards meeting Section, Branch and Division priorities and objectives. Oversees work which directly impacts the mission of the Branch, Division and the entire TSA. ** Qualifications**

**Specialized Experience Statement: To qualify for the SV-K Pay Band** (equivalent to GS-15), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-J or GS-14 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. **Specialized experience is defined as:**

+ Recommending changes to practices and procedures to better conform to security policies, directives, and regulations; **and**

+ Advising leadership or management officials on cybersecurity policies and programs; **and**

+ Developing and executing cybersecurity policies which impact all surface modes of transportation; **and**

+ Collaborating with stakeholders or other government agencies to implement changes in aviation security policies. **Note:** Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
