JMT's Herndon Construction Management Team is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to oversee project construction inspection for a multi-year project. The successful applicant will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and permits. **As a condition of employment, hire will be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Proof of vaccination will need to be submitted as part of the interview/hiring process.**

**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**

* Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations

* Monitor construction progress in relation to approved project schedule

* Performs routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials

* Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of drainage, structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and specifications

* Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards

* Assign, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the project

* Work on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issues

* Gathers and maintains project documentation

* Makes field notes, sketches and computations

* Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, project staff, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries

**Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities**

Required Experience

* High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)

* 6+ years of relevant Construction Inspection Experience

* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Construction Management Document Programs

* Valid drivers license

* Ability to pass a government security background check

* Supervisory experience in construction management/inspection situations

**Preferred Experience**

* Associates or bachelors degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering

**Certifications Required**

* Asphalt Field Level 1 and Level 2

* Soils and Aggregates Compaction

* Pavement Marking

* ACI

* DEQ SWM for Inspector

* DEQ E&S for Inspector

* Intermediate Work Zone

* Flagger

* Cold Asphalt Recycling Field

* Full Depth Reclamation (FDR)

* Slurry Surfacing

* Surface Treatment

* Nuclear Safety/Transportation

* OSHA 10

**Certifications Preferred**

* Asphalt Plant I and II

* Aggregate Plant

* Concrete Plant

**Working Conditions**

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid conditions during various shifts.
