Sentara Health is hiring a Senior Workforce Development Strategist!

Background

This position serves on the newly formed Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) team. In conjunction with the SWP Center of Expertise and SWP leadership, this role supports the development and full build-out of system-wide workforce efforts, including comprehensive resources engineered toward retention and attraction imperatives. The position willstreamline SWP team operations with a continuous focus on efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility.

This is a full-time position with day shift hours and excellent benefits!

The position is located in VA with a REMOTE opportunity - work from home is available only in these states:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Education, or related field preferred; professional experience in aligned areas acceptable instead of education.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant workforce development experience, preferably in a healthcare-oriented role, is required.
  • Additionally, two years of experience with research and strategic assessment of data (forecasting, labor market modeling, career pathways, and database development/monitoring) is required.
  • A strong working knowledge of program management spanning development, implementation, and evaluation achieved through two years of professional work experience is required.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS platform preferred.
  • Data Analytics and Data Visualization experience.
  • Must possess strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills with varied audiences.


Responsibilities

This role will lead functional operations across the platform of strategic workforce planning initiatives. Facilitation of successful project and program outcomes through frequent interactions with external partners such as workforce development consultants and educational assistance entities is a key component of this position.

Additional duties include:
  • Coordination and implementation of efforts for multi-disciplinary strategic workforce planning committees, assisting as innovative approaches to SWP are implemented across the system.
  • Assistance with governance and related protocols for strategic planning activities.
  • Integration of data analytics, predictive forecasting models, and relevant emerging market trends to ensure Sentara's workforce is availed of current and future opportunities aligned to system needs.
  • Harnessing existing workforce platform resources aligned to SWP needs and leading development, organization, and maintenance of new/expanded digital tools.
  • Significant efforts will be applied toward the design and integration of data analytics to create user-centered systems that are accessible, intuitive, and adaptive.
  • Contribution to SWP efforts by providing business intelligence to the organization through benchmarking and research: conceptualizing future talent needs and interpreting internal and external workforce trends customized to business needs.
  • Application of creative approaches to achieve strategic planning goals, providing data-informed recommendations for continuous enhancement.
  • Collaboration toward the successful implementation of campaigns to integrate accessible resources for strategic workforce initiatives, including assistance with change management processes for the adoption and use of new methodologies.

For applicants within Washington State, the following hiring range will be applied: $97,630.40 (annually) to $146,445.60(annually).
