Position Summary:

The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for initiating various aspects of the Baseball
Programs include recruiting within the school, scheduling opponents, training, and coaching team members.
The Head Baseball Coach is required to abide by GHSA rules and regulations as well as the rules and regulations set by the
Colquitt County SchoolDistrict. The Head Baseball Coach will have teaching responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required):

*Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate or Equivalent

*Head coaching experience preferred.

*Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.

*Must possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.

*Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, other school staff, associated colleagues, community members,

parents, and students.

Head Coaching Essential Responsibilities:

*Develop and implement a comprehensive program fostering skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

*Plan and conduct regular practices, drills, and conditioning sessions to prepare athletes for competition.

*Evaluate player and assistant coach performance, providing constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.

*Strategize game plans and make in-game adjustments to maximize team success.

*Supervise assistant coaches and coordinate their roles within the program.

*Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations.

*Support the Colquitt County School District's mission, vision, and beliefs.

*Provide a positive learning environment for all students.

*Model appropriate professional behavior.

*Work with teachers, athletic director, and administration in discipline problems concerning participants.

*Follow and enforce regulations concerning student conduct, discipline, and attendance.

*Coordinate the development and promotion of the Baseball Program.

*Assess players' skills and assign team positions.

*Organize and schedule practice sessions.

*Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities/exercises.

*Determine game strategy based on the team's capabilities.

*Maintain and secure all baseball equipment, uniforms, and facilities.

*Administrative tasks as assigned by the Athletic Director.

*Hold a preseason meeting with all student-athletes and parents before the first official game.

*Promote parent and community engagement by positive communication and visibility at all program levels and in the community.

*Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.

*Represent the Colquitt County School District and the Baseball program professionally.

*All other duties as assigned by the administration

*Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

*Maintain accurate records of student eligibility, attendance, and other pertinent information.

*Communicate regularly with student-athletes, parents, community, and stakeholders regarding program expectations and updates.

*Coordinate team travel, equipment, and other logistical needs for practices and competitions.

*Assist in recruiting and retaining Colquitt County School District student-athletes for the baseball program.

*Collaborate with school administrators and athletic department staff on matters related to the baseball program and disciplinary matters.

Teaching Essential Responsibilities:

*Deliver engaging and practical instruction for students.

*Develop and implement curriculum plans that align with state standards and educational goals.

* Create a positive, inclusive learning environment promoting student engagement and success.

* Assess student learning through various methods and provide timely feedback to support academic growth.

*Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and student learning outcomes.

* Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching skills and knowledge.

Physical Demand:

*Routine physical activities are associated with a classroom teacher and coach.
*Requires extensive sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, lifting, and repetitive fine motor activities as part of the daily activities.
*Vision, hearing, and verbal communication are essential functions of this position.
*Ability to carry 30-50 pounds with assistance
*Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds
*The employee must perform each essential function satisfactorily.
*Employees are expected to attend all required meetings as approved by the supervisor.
